A familiar face has earned his opportunity to lead the Morehead State Men's Basketball program. Jonathan Mattox, who spent nine seasons on the MSU bench and helped guide the Eagles to an OVC championship and 154 wins during that time frame, has been named head coach.

With final seeding on the line for next weekend's OVC Tournament, Morehead State is set to host the second OVC Weekend for Beach Volleyball. Matches will be contested Friday and Saturday at 8 and 10 a.m. and Noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m. each day with league foes Eastern Illinois, Chattanooga, Tennessee Tech, UT Martin and Lindenwood.

For the second time in program history and first time since 2011, women's golf has claimed the OVC Championship title. Led by four top-5 finishes, the Eagles carded rounds of 307-303-295—905, and claimed the top spot by 15 strokes over second place finisher Little Rock.

Morehead State Beach Volleyball lost just one individual match on Saturday as the Eagles swept Eastern Illinois 5-0 and defeated Lindenwood 4-1 at the OVC Weekend in Chattanooga. MSU evened its OVC mark to 2-2 and season record to 6-6.

Morehead State Football will kick off its spring practices on Monday, March 27. The Eagles will hold 14 practice sessions before the annual Spring Game set for Saturday, April 22 at Noon ET.

The Morehead State men's basketball team erased as much as a 15-point deficit and earned a 68-64 victory over the Clemson Tigers on the road Wednesday in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament at Littlejohn Coliseum.
