Football Quintet Named to KY Pro Football Hall of Fame's All Commonwealth Team

A quintet of Morehead State football student-athletes have earned spots on the All Commonwealth Team, as administered by the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame.

2023 honorees include junior offensive lineman Jaxsen Spears, redshirt sophomore defensive back Jihad McCall, redshirt junior defensive back Cooper Krezek, junior running back James Louis and redshirt junior kicker Nathan Hazlett.

The Kentucky Collegiate All Commonwealth Team is a pre-season recognition award for football players attending a Kentucky college or university. The Kentucky Collegiate All Commonwealth Team represents the best college football players that the state of Kentucky has to offer while their dedication to the game has contributed significantly to their teams.

The players will be recognized during the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame 2023 Induction Ceremony which will be televised on WTVQ on June 23 at 7 p.m.ET. The KY Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony will be available across all social media outlets.

Spears, from Plainfield, Ind., was an Honorable Mention All-Pioneer League pick in 2022 and a member of the Academic All-PFL Team.

McCall. from Jersey City, N.J., became a kick blocking phenom in 2022. He came within one of the MSU and FCS season record with four blocked punts.

Krezek, a native of Kansas City, Mo., led the team with 100 total tackles and blocked three kicks to go along with seven tackles for loss. He was Honorable Mention All-PFL.

Louis, from Hillside, N.J., broke out with 780 total rushing yards and had three 100+ yard games. He was named Second-Team All-PFL.

Hazlett, from Danville, Ky., was perfect on 24 PAT kicks and converted 11 field goals. He was on the Fred Mitchell Kicker of the Year Watch List.
