Winners of five straight and 11 of their last 14, the Morehead State baseball team is getting hot at the right time heading into the OVC Tournament. In the opening game of its final regular season series, the Morehead State baseball team took down Austin Peay in Clarksville 4-2 Thursday to inch closer to securing a top four seed in the OVC Tournament next week. Despite only registering four hits, the Morehead State baseball team notched their second straight win and a season sweep of Marshall with a 4-2 win over the 'Herd Tuesday thanks to six Eagles' pitchers holding their I-64 rival to only six hits. With the win Morehead State moved to 24-26 on the season, and wrapped up 2022 non-conference play with a 12-16 record.

One year after Michael Dunagan placed seventh in the Ohio Valley Conference Track and Field Championship finals of the 800-meter run in a time of 1:54.89, the Morehead State sophomore took seventh in Wednesday's qualifying round of this year's meet in 1:54.42 on Day 2 at the Roy Stewart Stadium and Hamilton Field on the campus of Murray State University in Murray, Ky.
