Rifle Gets the Best of UT Martin on Sunday; Eagles Now 2-0 in 2023-24

Morehead State Rifle improved its score from day 1 and got the best of UT Martin on Sunday, defeating the Skyhawks 4,667-4,620 at Murray State's Spurgin Rifle Range.

The Eagles swept the weekend matches over Murray and UTM. On Sunday, the Eagles finished at 2,312 in Smallbore and 2,355 in Air Rifle.

In Air, MSU had a pair of 590-club shooters. Graduate student Grace Weber led the way with a 592 for the second straight day. Sophomore Adrianna Beard followed with a 590.

Senior Cassidy Wilson was next on the Air range, with a 589, while freshman Maria Koenig fashioned 587. Fellow frosh Cooper Gray had a nice day as well, with a 587. Senior Andrew Morris (584) and grad student Bryce Ward (583) rounded out the counters for the Eagles.

In Smallbore, Koenig's 585 was the top score. Beard followed suit at 582, while Wilson carded a 580. Weber (576), Ward (574) and Morris (572) were the others scoring in the lineup.

The Kentucky Long Rifle match at UK is next on the docket for the Eagles. That match will take place on Saturday.
