With final seeding on the line for next weekend's OVC Tournament, Morehead State is set to host the second OVC Weekend for Beach Volleyball. Matches will be contested Friday and Saturday at 8 and 10 a.m. and Noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m. each day with league foes Eastern Illinois, Chattanooga, Tennessee Tech, UT Martin and Lindenwood.
Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children for all day (Buy Tickets).
The Eagles will open on Friday at Noon with EIU before facing league leader UT Martin at 4 p.m. On Saturday, MSU will battle Lindenwood at 2 p.m. and wrap up the weekend at 6 p.m. versus Chattanooga. The Eagles' seven seniors (Trinity Miller, Abby Hulsman, Anya Reinhard, Kinsey McAfee, Bridget Bessler, Andrea Grimes and Peyton Kennedy) will be honored before the final match.
The Eagles are currently in third place at 3-3 with an 8-10 overall mark. UTM leads the conference at 6-0, while Chattanooga is 4-2.
At No. 1 for MSU, Trinity Miller and Sydney Wyman have been one of the best league duos, with an 11-4 overall mark and a 4-2 OVC record. At the other end of the lineup, at No. 5, Brenna Bommer and Andrea Grimes have partnered to fashion a 7-3 record. Grimes boasts the third best individual mark on the team at 10-6 and has nine wins at No. 5.
