Dieonte Miles, a 7-foot power forward who has been at Big East power Xavier for four seasons, is set to transfer to Morehead State for his graduate season.

From Walton, Ky., and Walton-Verona High School, Miles is the first 7-foot student-athlete in men's basketball's history.

"We are excited to welcome Dieonte back to the bluegrass to finish his college career. He comes from a terrific program where he has competed against some of the best players in the country and has been coached by two highly decorated coaching staffs at Xavier," said Head Coach Preston Spradlin. "Dieonte checks every box for our program both on and off the court. His length and athleticism will enhance our current roster and offer us a size advantage in the middle to anchor our defense in the OVC. His personality and energy will be infectious within our team culture, and he will quickly become a fan favorite for our Eagle fan base."

Following a redshirt season in 2019-20, Miles played three full seasons at Xavier. He helped the Musketeers win the National Invitation Tournament in 2021-22 and advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament this past season.

He appeared in 37 games for X and shot 53 percent from the floor in his career. He also had 23 blocked shots in those 37 appearances.

Miles was a Kentucky Mr. Basketball finalist in 2018-19 at Walton-Verona for head coach Grant Brannen and was named Louisville Courier-Journal First-Team All-State as well as Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches 8th Region Player of the Year. Miles averaged 14.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 3.0 assists as a senior, while shooting 64 percent from the field. He led Walton-Verona to the state tournament for the first time since 1942 and finished his career with a school-record 350 blocks despite missing the majority of his junior year with injury. He was also named MVP of the "All A" Tournament.

He joins Southeastern (Fla.) graduate transfer Riley Minix as the newest Eagles for 2023-24.
