Riley Minix, who scored more than 2,000 points and grabbed more than 1,000 rebounds in his four-year career at Southeastern University (Fla.), has chosen to play his graduate season at Morehead State.

An NAIA and NABC All-American from Vero Beach, Fla., Minix is a 6-foot-7 forward who ranked among the top players at that level in 2022-23 and had 10 games with 30+ points. Off the court, he also earned a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American award. He was the NAIA Academic All-American of the Year, marking the second straight season the Eagles landed that particular honoree. Alex Gross also won the award in 2021-22 and then transferred to MSU.

"Riley is a tremendous addition to our roster this spring. He has the talent, intangibles and championship experience to make the successful transition from NAIA to Division I," said MSU head coach Preston Spradlin. "With his size, athleticism and ability to score both inside and out, Riley will add a new dimension to our experienced team. He will be a terrific fit both on and off the floor with the culture of our program!"

He averaged 25.4 points, 13.6 rebounds and nearly 3.0 assists per game in 2022-23. Minix was a catalyst in helping the Fire win 20+ games three times in his four seasons and advance to the NAIA National Championship Tournament three times.

Minix compiled 58 career double-doubles and scored 30+ 17 times in his career. He finished his Southeastern tenure with 2,047 points, 1,047 rebounds, 180 assists, 140 blocked shots,127 steals, 54 percent field goal accuracy, 41 percent three-point percentage and 78 percent free throw totals.

Minix was a two-time Sun Conference Player of the Year and a two-time Sun Tournament Most Valuable Player. He was also a finalist for the Bevo Francis Award, honoring the nation's top small college basketball student-athlete.
