For the second time in program history and first time since 2011, women's golf has claimed the OVC Championship title.

Led by four top-5 finishes, the Eagles carded rounds of 307-303-295—905, and claimed the top spot by 15 strokes over second place finisher Little Rock.

Freshman Ruth Tonnessen led the charge for the Eagles, claiming medalist honors and garnering All-Tournament team honors. Tonnessen fired rounds of 74-75-73—222 and led the team in par 5 scoring, led the field in birdies with eight, and tied for the lead in pars with 36.

She is the second player in OVC history to be named Player and Freshman of the Year and earn medalist honors in the same season.

Olivia Hensley, who finished just three strokes back of Tonnessen, fashioned rounds of 78-75-72—225. Hensley led the team in par 4 scoring and matched Tonnessen for the tournament lead in pars.

MacKenzie Neal finished fourth, notching her second consecutive top-5 finish at the OVC Championship. Neal improved every round as the tournament progressed and finished second in pars with 35.

Tuva Marie Isebakke finished tied for fifth in her first conference tournament appearance. She shined particularly on par 3 scoring, where she led the tournament in scoring average with a 3.08.

Hanna Montgomery rounded out the quintet, finishing in the top-20. Montgomery had success on par 3 scoring, finishing third and averaging 3.25.

Head coach Stephanie Barker was named OVC Coach of the Year for the second time in her career, and Hensley, Neal, and Isebakke joined Tonnessen on the All-Tournament team.

With the win, the Eagles have earned the automatic bid into the NCAA Championship. The 2023 field will be announced on April 26 and the NCAA Regionals will be held May 8-10.
