Women's Golf Concludes Fall with a Pair of Top-20 Finishes at the Town & Country Invitational

On the course for the final time during the fall portion of its 2019-20 slate, Morehead State women's golf wrapped up play at the Town & Country Invitational Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles concluded the event with a seventh-place finish.

As a team, Morehead State opened the event, firing a season-best team total of 294. The Eagles' final round team score of 302 also placed amongst the team's top scores of the season, ranking third for the team in the fall.

Leading Morehead State at the event, senior Gypsie Hutchinson secured her third top-15 finish of the fall, tying for 13th. She fashioned scores of 73-73-146. Right behind Hutchinson on the leaderboard, redshirt junior Bridget Connolly finished the event carding marks of 76-71-147. Connolly wrapped the event tied for 16th, firing a season-low total in the final round.

Freshman MacKenzie Neal fired rounds of 77-75-152 to finish tied for 29th while sophomore Sarah Black crafted scores of 70-83-153 to finish tied for 35th. Black's opening-round score marked the team's lowest round of the season while also marking a career-low round for Black.

Rounding out the scoring for the Eagles was freshman Hailey Rietz. She placed 40th, fashioning rounds of 75-83-158.

Morehead State returns to the course for the first time in the spring portion of its schedule at the Mid-American Match Play event in February. The two-day event takes place at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. on Feb. 3-4.
