Former Morehead State standout Treshaad Williams will be taking the next step in his professional endeavors, agreeing to terms to play for the Villa San Martin basketball club in Argentina. A native of Nashville, Ga., Williams heads to South America after a season in Australia with the South Adelaide Panthers.
Villa San Martin fields their competition in La Liga Argentina's North Division. Based out of Resistencia, Argentina, the hoops club is one of 28 in the nation's premier basketball league. By adding Williams, VSM will look to improve on their most recent campaign, finishing tied for fifth in their division, sporting a 16-10 record.
"I'm very excited for Treshaad and the opportunity he has been afforded to continue his playing career," said head men's basketball coach Preston Spradlin. "[He] was a guy that meant so much to our program; he played so much bigger than what his size and stature would dictate."
Williams graduated from Morehead State University in May 2017 with a Bachelor's Degree in University Studies.
"He joins a long line of players that have come through here," continued Spradlin. "And, not only left their imprint on our basketball program, earning their degrees. But, also earning themselves the opportunity to experience traveling the world and playing for a living."

As a senior at MSU, Williams started in all 30 games, averaging 8.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per tilt. The forward ranked first in the Ohio Valley Conference in field goal percentage, connecting on a blistering 72 percent of his shot attempts. At one point in the 2016-17 campaign, Williams made 26 consecutive shots in Johnson Arena.
Williams more than proved his worth in the post, posting 20-point efforts on three occasions his senior year. He posted his career high on Dec. 28, 2016, when MSU was visited by nearby Asbury University. There, Williams poured in 24 points and eight rebounds in only 19 minutes of action.
As conference play approached, he was able to duplicate these efforts by twice posting 22-point nights, once on Jan. 5, 2017 versus Eastern Illinois and again on Jan. 21, 2017 (to go along with six and seven rebounds, respectively).
As a junior, Williams' contributions to the 2015-16 Eagles helped highlight a unit that was 3rd in scoring defense (69.0 points per game), 1st in scoring margin (+4.6), 3rd in field goal percentage defense (.438), 1st in all stats pertaining to rebounds (offensive rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game, rebounding offense and defense), 3rd in assists per game (14.4), 1st in steals per game (8.2), and 1st in turnover margin (+2.3) in the Ohio Valley Conference.
The 2015-16 Eagles finished with a 23-14 overall record, an 11-5 mark in the Ohio Valley Conference, and a runner-up finish in the College Basketball Invitational Tournament. The 23 wins sets the bar for 4th-most wins in school history.
