Slade rest area on Mountain Parkway scheduled for temporary closure

WBKO

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that the Junior Williamson Rest Area at Slade – Exit 33 off eastbound Mountain Parkway – will be temporarily closed for a repair and renovation project beginning Monday, Aug. 14.

The project is anticipated to last approximately 75 days.

During the project duration, only commercial vehicle parking will be accessible. Portable bathrooms will be available on the premises to accommodate commercial drivers. All other access to the facility, parking area and vending machines will not be permitted.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists are encouraged to plan their travel itinerary accordingly.
