Bridge Repairs Mean Temporary Daytime Closures of KY 755 in Elliott County

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet

Bridge repairs will require temporary daytime closures of KY 755 (South Ruin Road) north of Sandy Hook in Elliott County this month.

Beginning Monday, April 17, Kentucky Department of Highways crews will repair abutments — the concrete supports at each end of a bridge — on the South Ruin Creek bridge on KY 755 between the A. Winkleman Road and Paradise Road intersections (near milepoint 5.2).

The bridge will be closed to all traffic weekdays, 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. for three to four weeks. Motorists may detour using KY 7 and KY 650 or local routes. Message boards will be used to communicate closure times and schedule changes.

Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
