Following a string of overdoses in the region, it's important to recall programs assisting individuals affected by drug addition.
The Kentucky State Police's Angel Initiative is a program that allows anyone battling addiction to come to any KSP post and get help finding a treatment center, no questions asked. Josh Lawson is the commander of the KSP's public affairs branch. He says being proactive in getting treatment can be as important as the treatment itself.
There are some restrictions to the Angel Initiative. Participants may not have any outstanding arrest warrants, have three or more drug-related felonies and cannot be a registered sex offender. For more information, contact your local KSP post.
