After a championship winning season, women's golf saw their year come to an end Wednesday afternoon at the NCAA Regional Tournament.

As a team, the Eagles carded rounds of 296-302-293—891 and finished 11th among a loaded field that featured nationally ranked teams from across the country.

"Competing in the NCAA Tournament was an amazing experience. The course was in excellent shape and it was a great experience to get to compete at a place like that against a strong field," MacKenzie Neal said. "I think this tournament proved to us that we are prepared to compete with anyone when we are playing our best and that we are a strong team."

Ruth Tonnessen claimed a top-40 finish to wrap up her stellar freshman campaign, firing rounds of 74-71-76—221, with her second round 71 marking the best individual round on the Eagle squad. Tonnessen also tied for the team lead in birdies, with nine throughout the tournament.

MacKenzie Neal also ranked in the top-40, fashioning rounds of 74-76-72—223 and finished tied for fifth among the field in par 3 scoring.

Olivia Hensley wrapped up her junior campaign by leading the Eagles in par 5 scoring and was tied with Tonnessen in total birdies.

Tuva Marie Isebakke finished tied for 11th among the field in total pars, leading the team with 38 over the three rounds and Hanna Montgomery finished two under par on par 5 scoring.

The Morehead State season comes to an end after claiming six OVC Golfer of the Week recognitions, two Golfer of the Month accolades, four members of the All-OVC and All-Tournament Teams, two All-Newcomer awards, and an OVC Championship.

"We look forward to working hard next year to hopefully find ourselves in this position again," Neal added.
