Neal Claims Top-15 Finish as Women's Golf Wraps Up Golfweek Event

MacKenzie Neal fired the lowest round of her collegiate career en route to a top-15 finish, as women's golf concluded play at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.

The team fashioned rounds of 297-288-296—881 throughout the three-day event, improving upon last year's score by 28 strokes.

MacKenzie Neal led the Eagles, fashioning rounds of 72-68-73—213. Neal also led the team in nearly every statistical category, including pars, birdies, and scoring average on par 3s and 4s. Neal's second round 68 was the lowest individual round by an Eagle since Anna Magnusson shot a 67 at the same event in 2016.

Hailey Rietz dramatically improved on last season's performance, shooting 43 spots up the leaderboard to claim a top-50 finish.

Olivia Hensley fashioned rounds of 77-74-73—224, improving every round as the tournament rolled along.

Newcomers Ruth Toennessen and Tuva Marie Isebakke combined for 63 pars and 14 birdies throughout the event. Tønnessen also led the Eagles in par 5 scoring, finishing the tournament two under par.

The Eagles return to stroke play in two weeks at the Illinois-Chicago Invitational. The two-day tournament tees off from the Briar Ridge Golf Club in Schererville, Ind.
