Women's Golf Surges on Final Day to Nab 12th Place

Morehead State women's golf finished strong at the Golfweek Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate, jumping four spots up the leaderboard in the final day to finish 12th.

The Eagles notched 166 pars during the event, giving them the fourth most in a loaded field featuring a number of Power 5 opponents. The third round turnaround from the team also vaulted them ahead of regional rival Marshall.

MacKenzie Neal led the charge for the Eagles finishing in the top-35, carding a 77-82-71—230. Her third round 71 was the lowest individual score for the team and Neal also posted the third best average on par 4s.

Olivia Hensley and Bridget Connolly both finished in 43rd, as they both posted their best rounds on the final day. Hensley led the team in par 3 scoring, while Connolly recorded 35 pars throughout the tournament.

Hailey Rietz also finished in the top-50, leading the Eagles with 38 pars, and helped contribute to Morehead State's final day charge.

Hanna Montgomery rounded out the quintet, fashioning rounds of 85-86-78—249.

The Eagles return to the course in a few weeks, as they prepare for the OVC Championship. The two-day tournament tees off from the Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals Ala.
