Jason Goe Earns OVC Co-Pitcher of the Week Accolade

MSU Athletics

Morehead State junior right-handed pitcher Jason Goe was virtually untouchable Sunday at UT Martin, and his effort has earned him Ohio Valley Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week.

A 6-foot-3 hurler from Dry Ridge, Ky., Goe struck out a career-high 13 batters in the Eagles' 6-2 victory at UTM and didn't walk a batter while only surrendering two hits. His honor is the third league weekly award for the program this season, and he is the first Eagle to be named Pitcher of the Week this season.

On a career-best 101 pitches, Goe sat down at least two Skyhawk hitters via strikeouts in five of his career-long eight innings and retired the side on strikeouts once.

Before allowing a solo run in the seventh inning (via just a sacrifice fly), Goe's streak of consecutive scoreless innings ran up to 15.2. On the season, he is now 3-1.

In Goe's three starts (17.1 innings), he hasn't issued a single walk against 17 punchouts while only surrendering just the one earned run. He has also been a part of both the Eagles' shutout wins.

MSU travels to Ohio Tuesday and hosts SIU Edwardsville this weekend.
