Connor Pauly Named OVC Baseball Player of the Week

MSU Athletics

After a stellar offensive week, Morehead State senior center-fielder Connor Pauly has been tabbed the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week.

It is the second weekly award in his career after earning the same honor last year on April 9.

Pauly registered multi-hit games in all five contests last week as the Eagles went 4-1, including a win over Big 12 foe West Virginia and a series sweep against OVC rival Eastern Kentucky.

His prolific production included a .478 batting average (11-for-23), four home runs, 13 RBI, two doubles and 1.087 slugging percentage.

Pauly homered in the first game with WVU, then slammed round-trippers in all three games versus the Colonels. His grand slam in game two provided the eventual winning margin, and he hit a two-run homer in the series opener and finale.

On the season, Pauly is tied for the team lead with five home runs and five doubles and leads the squad, and the OVC, with 26 RBI. He also ranks second in the OVC in hits with 29, only behind his teammate Jake Hammon.

Pauly and the Eagles host Alabama State Tuesday (4 p.m. ET) and Wednesday (1 p.m.) this week before stepping out of league play additionally for a weekend series at Southern Illinois.
