Zack Howard Leads Athletic Video Program

Zack Howard, who was a crucial member of Redbird Productions at Illinois State, has been named video coordinator at Morehead State.

Howard is the first full-time video coordinator for the athletic department. The position was elevated from graduate assistant to full time this summer.

Howard, who also served as a producer, anchor and reporter at ISU's campus television station, TV10, will oversee the Eagle Vision student production crew, produce and direct a large number of live events for the Ohio Valley Conference Digital Network, produce weekly feature packages, coordinate the video aspect of the Eagle Sports Coaches Show and compile and distribute highlight packages to local broadcast media and MSUEagles.com.

"I like the foundation the video department has established in the past two years with Daniel Becker, and I am excited to continue building on that and elevate the department to a higher standard," Howard said. "My goal is to put out the best production possible and win an OVC Digital Network Program of Excellence Award."

Howard served as a student member of ISU's in-house video team, Redbird Productions, from 2011-14. He was elevated to full-time student employee as a senior and oversaw web streaming.

"Zack's skill set fit our job description perfectly," Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs Brad Smith said. "I am excited to see him take our video department to the next level. The OVC Digital Network has given us a wonderful opportunity to showcase our athletic department and our student-athletes, and I know Zack will be utilize his creativity and leadership qualities to ensure that our fans and alumni can always keep up with Morehead State Athletics."

Howard served at TV10 for four years and was named Outstanding Senior in Athletic Video Production.

Howard was an intern at WBBM Television, a CBS affiliate, in Chicago in 2013, working on the morning show. A native of Burbank, Ill., Howard was the president of the ISU chapter of the Illinois Student News Broadcaster's Association.

He graduated from ISU in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.
