Women's Tennis Sweeps Tennessee State

The Morehead State women's tennis team improved to 5-1 in Ohio Valley Conference matches this year with a 7-0 sweep at Tennessee State on Sunday (March 30).

The Eagles moved to 8-9 overall. It's the most OVC wins for MSU since going 6-3 in 2010. TSU fell to 0-10 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

Sophomore Briar Preston stayed unblemished in conference singles matches (6-0) as she topped Victoria Haynes 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1. Preston has dropped only three games in her last four matches.

At No. 2, freshman Andrea LeBlanc ousted Trinity Randolph 6-2, 6-0. On court three, Dominique-Chante Mclean only dropped two games in a 6-1, 6-1 triumph against Jade Daniels, and junior Alex Tachovsky blanked London Thomas 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4.

Sophomore Sandrine Beaule played a single set against Attalah Eiland and won 8-0. Freshman Hayley Wild won by default on court six.

The Eagles won both of their doubles matches, 8-0 and 8-1.
