Morehead State steps out of Pioneer Football League action on Saturday (September 21) to host Ohio Valley Conference rival Eastern Kentucky. Kick-off from MSU’s Jayne Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
The Colonels are 1-2 overall, while the Eagles are 0-3 on the season. Eastern Kentucky defeated Robert Morris (Pa.) in its opener, but lost to No. 8 (FBS) Louisville and No. 21 (FCS) Coastal Carolina. Morehead State has suffered setbacks to Pikeville (Ky.), No. 25 (FCS) Youngstown State and Jacksonville.
Saturday will mark the 71st meeting between the two programs in football.
Eastern Kentucky owns a 50-16-4 overall advantage and 22-7-3 upper hand in Morehead. The Colonels have won 25 of their last 26 games against the Eagles. MSU will be looking for its first victory over EKU since Nov. 17, 1990.
