Morehead State senior Zachariah Elliott has been named Ohio Valley Conference co-Male Runner of the Week after his performance Saturday night (August 31) at the Brooks Memphis Twilight. Elliott shared the first weekly honor of 2013 with Belmont senior Matt Miller.
Elliott placed third out of 173 runners in a field that included several regionally-ranked teams. His performance helped Morehead State to a second place finish out of eight squads. The Eagles were just five points behind Mississippi State in the team standings. He covered the 4.2 mile course in 21:33, only seven seconds behind the second place finisher.
Morehead State is idle until September 14 when it travels to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic.
