6th District Democrats on KET

KET

A Lexington woman seeking the Democratic nomination for Congress in Kentucky’s 6th District is embracing the federal Affordable Care Act, even as other Democrats appear to be distancing themselves from the landmark legislation. Elisabeth Jensen is convinced Kentucky’s implementation of the law through its state exchange called Kynect is helping a lot of people…

Jensen believes the law will be an economic benefit to the Commonwealth, creating jobs in the health care field while improving the health of Kentuckians. She made her comments Monday on KET’sKentucky Tonight as part of a candidates’ forum.

Another Fayette County Democrat seeking the party’s nomination for the 6th District Congressional seat is Geoff Young. He also supports the ACA…but doesn’t think it went far enough…

Young says a public option would give consumers more choice and provide additional competition for the private health insurance industry. He also appeared on KET’s candidates’ forum. Whoever wins the Democratic primary will challenge Republican incumbent Andy Barr in November.
