‘Chuck it for Charity’ slated for May 1-11

Morehead State University’s Sustainability Committee and Goodwill Industries of Kentucky will present “Chuck it for Charity,” May 1-11.

“Chuck it for Charity” is a campus move out donation campaign in which Goodwill of Kentucky is providing donations bins in several locations on campus so that students can donate gently used clothing, shoes, small appliances, decor, books and school supplies and miscellaneous household goods.

The purpose of the campaign is to alleviate the amount of usable items that go to the landfill after move out and to provide an easy way for students to donate to the community. Donated items will be sold at the 64 Goodwill stores across Kentucky to provide jobs, job training and employment counseling for people who have disabilities or other barriers to employment.

Donation bin areas will include Alumni Tower, Butler Hall, Cartmell Hall, Cooper Hall, Eagle Lake Apartments, East Mignon Hall, Mays Hall, Mignon Hall, Mignon Tower and Normal Hall. Students living in West Mignon, Grote-Thompson Hall and Fields Hall will need to bring their donations to one of the participating residence halls.

Information posters will be posted in each residence hall.
