Kentucky State Parks Holding Open House for Educators on July 15

stateparks.com

The Kentucky State Parks are holding an open house July 15 aimed at educators interested in finding out more about the educational offerings at parks around the state.

The open house will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon (local time) at 28 state resort parks, recreation parks and historic sites.

“This is a great opportunity for educators to find out more about the educational offerings that are available at our state parks,” Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker said. “We offer excellent overnight trips as well as day trips to school groups that introduce students to nature, culture and history.”

The parks ask educators interested in attending to register by calling the park of their choice by July 9. A list of the 28 participating parks and contacts is available at: http://www.parks.ky.gov

The open house will include a tour of the park, explanation of the overnight and day programs available, and an explanation of the Inside Out Education grants provided by the Kentucky State Parks Foundation. For more information, educators should call the park they are interested in visiting.
