MSU Selects Inaugural Craft Academy Students

The inaugural class for Morehead State University’s new Craft Academy for Academic Excellence in Science and Mathematics is now set for the fall. He says the school received more than 100 applications.

MSU President Dr. Wayne Andrews says 60 gifted high school juniors have been chosen to attend the academy.

“These are really top kids from throughout Kentucky. So, we’re just really enthusiastic about what this will do. It will give us the opportunity to offer really high quality education in science technology, engineering, math and related disciplines to the students in this region so that we can advantage our people in our places.”

The Craft Academy is a residential program similar to Western Kentucky University’s nationally-acclaimed Gatton Academy. The students will be housed in Grote-Thompson Hall.
