ukcc.uky.edu

Lexington’s Carnegie Center for Literacy is celebrating its 21st anniversary tonight (September 13).  The center will provide a barbecue dinner, live music, and poetry reading in Gratz Park.  Leigh Anne Hornfeldt of Georgetown is one of the poets involved.

“I think everybody’s whose reading has been touched by the Carnegie Center in some way, this is a small way that we can repay the Carnegie Center for all the support and all the wonderful things they’ve done for us.” –Leigh Anne Hornfeldt

She and the other “Holler Poets” will provide a live tribute to the center, which has supported many Kentucky writers over the past two decades. The celebration consists of a barbeque dinner in Gratz Park and music by Coralee and the Townies.  Festivities begin at 6p.m. this evening (September 13).
