Morehead State University is looking at another record enrollment this year for first-time freshmen.
According to the school’s Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Services, Jeffrey Liles, MSU expects 1700 newcomers to show up for the fall semester…up from last year’s total of 1649.
Liles says a lot of people on campus can take credit for the continued rise in freshmen enrollment…
"We have faculty who load up on vans and go to events all over the state…to meet with students and parents where they are. Our marketing efforts…people have seen the commercials and they relate to those. When students and parents come to campus, they realize there’s a lot more here than they might have expected…the faculty and staff are very friendly and helpful…it’s a great community. " - Jeffrey Liles
Morehead State University’s overall enrollment has been in the neighborhood of 11,000 students over the past two years, which is what Liles believes it should be in 2013—14.
