Police search for missing girl

A 16-year-old Rowan County girl is missing and her family suspects she is being held against her will.

Amber D. Lewis was last seen Friday, Feb. 22, around 9 p.m. at her father’s home in Midland in Bath County.

Amber Lewis told her brother Larry Dale Lewis that she was being picked up by her mother, Mary.

Larry Lewis said he saw Amber leave the residence around 9 p.m., get in a vehicle in the driveway and leave. He could not give a description and did not know who it was.

Mary Lewis of Morehead thinks her daughter is being held against her will and is not being allowed to contact her family because she won’t answer her phone or text messages, or respond to Instagram or Facebook messages.

Mary Lewis said Amber is never without her phone and has not been on her phone since Friday when she went to her father’s house.

Mary believes Amber may be with someone she met online.

Amber is a white female, 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighing 172 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

She is a junior at Rowan County Senior High School.

Anyone with information about Amber is asked to call the Bath County Sheriff at (606) 674-2006, the Kentucky State Police at (606) 784-4127 or Mary Lewis at home at (606) 691-4543 or on her cell at (606) 356-8620.
