BSCTC President Applauds Work of One East Kentucky

BSCTC

Dr. Alan Scheibmeir, interim president of Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC), attended the board of directors meeting of One East Kentucky on Wednesday, January 18 on the Prestonsburg campus of BSCTC.

One East Kentucky is a non-profit, privately funded regional economic development organization that represents nine eastern Kentucky counties.  Its exclusive mission is to recruit industry and investment to the region.  One East Kentucky’s corporate offices are located on the Prestonsburg campus of BSCTC.

“It is wonderful to see the collaboration of business and industry partners first hand,” said Dr. Scheibmeir. “The representatives of the board of One East Kentucky come from all walks of life, but share one commonality in working towards creating opportunity for all who seek it in eastern Kentucky.”

Derrick Ramsey, secretary of the department of labor, and deputy secretary Michael Nemes attended the meeting.
