The Kentucky Center for Traditional Music (KCTM) will host its Sounds of Our Heritage concert on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Rowan County Arts Center.
The event will feature performances by KCTM students and will feature bluegrass, old time, country, western swing, blues, gospel and ballads.
Raymond McLain, KCTM director, said the Sounds of Our Heritage concerts are held several times a year to not only let KCTM students gain experience performing in public, but to also highlight the skills of talented musicians.
“Everyone should come because they will hear Morehead State University Traditional Music Students at their best,” McLain said. “Some of the students who will be performing have represented Morehead State and mountain music and culture regionally and internationally at concerts, festivals and have been broadcast on television and radio.”
The event is free and open to the public.
