The Mountain Arts Center to Celebrate 20 Years with Anniversary Gala

Mountain Arts Center

The staff and board of directors of the Mountain Arts Center, along with the City of Prestonsburg and Big Sandy Community & Technical College will be celebrating 20 years of delivering music and the arts to the community and eastern Kentucky. They will be hosting an anniversary gala on Thursday, October 20th at 7pm in the theater of the MAC.

The evening will consist of fine dining and music with formal attire requested. An individual plate is priced at $50, while a table can be purchased for $250. Each table can seat 6 guests. Also, during the celebration, the MAC will be honoring their corporate sponsors that have aided in the operations through the years.

The Mountain Arts Center opened its theater doors to a full capacity on October 16th, 1996 with the touring show “Always, Patsy Cline.” In the years since the center has hosted and presented a variety of entertainment genres including country, bluegrass, rock, gospel, and pop concerts, as well as a plethora of Broadway-style shows, dance recitals, arts education recitals, comedians, motivational speakers, and conventions.

Executive Director Clayton Case is “both excited and humbled,” he stated. “I’m honored to celebrate 20 years of entertainment and music education in this region. Thanks to the sacrifices and support from all that have come before us I’m more than excited about the future of the MAC.”

Individuals or companies that have interest in attending the 20th anniversary gala can RSVP to Shelly Crisp at 886-9125 or shelly@macarts.com by Friday October 14th.
