Local attorney Kim Reeder filed to run for Kentucky Auditor in the fall.
The only democrat running for the seat, Reeder graduated from Rowan County public schools, Yale, Duke, and the University of North Carolina School of Law.
She says if elected, she will first speak with community members across the state to find out what is needed, and how they feel audits have been conducted in the past.
Reeder will face the winner of the Republican primary in November. Allison Ball of Prestonsburg and Derek Petteys of Lexington will face off in the May GOP primary.
