Special Olympics, Sawstone Brewing host fundraiser

Rowan County Special Olympics is holding a fundraising event on Saturday, April 2nd for World Autism Awareness Day.

They are partnering with Sawstone Brewing Company to release a new raspberry Kolsch beer titled “Acceptance.” For every pint sold, $1 dollar will be donated to the athletes for their summer games.

Donna Oakley has been coaching the Special Olympics for about 24 years. She says the fundraiser will also increase awareness for adults and children who have autism.

Money raised at the event will help pay athlete fees and other expenses for the team to go to the State Games in June.
