The Director of the Kentucky Folk Arts Center in Morehead was not surprised to hear his facility was on Governor Matt Bevin’s chopping block.
The Governor announced cuts to 70 different programs and facilities across the state during his State of the Commonwealth speech Tuesday night in Frankfort.
KFAC director Matt Collinsworth says being a separate line item in the Morehead State University Budget made the facility more vulnerable.
Collinsworth says the Folk Arts Center has received widespread community support. The Center has already lost 60-percent of their workforce in the last 2 years- leaving just two people to run the museum.
