Northeast Kentucky Road Update

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet

As of 11 a.m. today (January 12), all northeast Kentucky state highway snow plow and salt truck operators are on duty, with varied conditions as snow sweeps west to east across the region.

Current air and road temperatures are still both around 33. Harder snow has moved in the western counties of the district.

- Crews treating roads with salt: Fleming, Mason, Nicholas

- Crews spot treating with salt in: Greenup, Lewis, Rowan

- Patrolling: Boyd

- Standby: Bath, Carter, Elliott

Snow-covered or wet roads could be icy throughout the day. Take it slow if driving. With temperatures expected to plummet overnight, ice and refreezing will be concerns. Crews are now on 12-hour shifts and will remain on duty to keep roads clear until the wintry weather threat subsides.
