Rowan Schools Open Thursday

Even with COVID-19 positive cases on the rise in the county, schools in Rowan County begin in-person learning Thursday.

Students, faculty and staff will be masked inside buildings, a decision approved by the School Board before mandates were put in place by the Governor and the State Board of Education.

Superintendent John Maxey says as of now, districts do not have hybrid-learning options or additional non-traditional instruction days.

Maxey says motorist should make extra time for morning commutes, since busses and parent drop offs will begin again this week. Clearfield Elementary School is temporarily being held on Sun Street, which will cause additional traffic delays.
