The Rowan county board of education will meet in special session on Wednesday to discussing reopening plans as cases of COVID-19 are pushing many counties in the area back to the red zone.
Last week National and State Health Leaders said everyone should be masked indoors, regardless of vaccination status, due to the more-contagious Delta Variant of the Virus.
Superintendent John Maxey says The Board will talk about recommendations from the C-D-C, state department of education, and the department of public health.
Maxey says parents who feel uncomfortable sending their students to school will have online learning options, but that will look very different this year.
The special called meeting will be held Aug. 4th at the Board of Education building on Viking Drive at 6 p.m.
