The man known for organizing protests against racism in Grayson was arrested Saturday in Louisville.

According to the arrest citation, 28-year-old Dee Garrett was seen driving a truck in downtown Louisville with passengers in the back.  He allegedly stopped at various intersections and ran towards people on the street in a menacing way, while armed with a stick or bat.   The citations says Garrett drove the wrong way on streets and destroyed property in the area of 4th street live.  When stopped by police, he did not provide a license or proof of insurance.

Garrett was arrested and charged with reckless driving, 1st degree rioting, 2nd degree disorderly conduct, failure to maintain insurance, no driver’s license and failure to notify address change.

Garrett was released on a $5-thousand dollar cash bond on Sunday, with the stipulation that he will not drive or be arrested for any other crimes. His arraignment is scheduled for November 2nd in Louisville.
