Lohmeier Selected OVC Volleyball Player of the Week for 13th Time in Her Career

MSU Athletics

For Volleyball graduate student Olivia Lohmeier, 13 is a lucky number. Lohmeier has been named Ohio Valley Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week, the 13th time in her career winning the weekly honor.

Despite a pair of setbacks at Austin Peay, Lohmeier still averaged 4.5 kills per set and added three blocks and 10 digs on the weekend. In Friday's five-setter, she piled up 25 kills on a career-high 76 swings. She returned Saturday to knock in 16 more kills with two blocks.

With 1,729 career kills, Lohmeier has moved to third place in career spikes within the program history. She needs only 43 more to move to second place past Dayle Hamontree (1987-90). She is ninth place in OVC in career kills but can move into the top five with just 45 more.

Lohmeier is currently ranked 21st nationally in Division I in kills per set (4.49). She is 16th nationally in total kills and 23rd in total attacks.

The Eagles are back at home this weekend for an OVC two-fer against Murray State, Friday night at 6 p.m. ET and Saturday at 11 a.m.
