A Bath County Sheriff Deputy was arrested yesterday in Morehead.
According to a press release from the Kentucky State Police, 37-year old Joshua Preece was charged with prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor. Preece was arrested at his home on Seas Branch Road Thursday after a state investigation.
Bath County Sheriff John Snedegar confirmed that Preece was a deputy and worked for the K-S-P post in Morehead for about 10 years prior to being hired.
Snedegar says he will have to decide if any disciplinary action will be taken against Preece while the investigation and prosecution are ongoing. Although no action has been taken, Snedegar did say he was currently working on it.
A hearing date has not been set for Preece. He is currently being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
