MoreLove, a nonprofit founded this year, will host a community Thanksgiving dinner in Morehead. Organizers said despite the newness of MoreLove, several businesses, banks, insurance companies, and law firms have made donations to the organization.
Elizabeth Banks is a founding member of MoreLove. She said the nonprofit’s goal is to foster inclusivity within the community.
“MoreLove came to life when a group of business owners and community members realized that there's not really a space for inclusion in this town, an active group that makes sure inclusion is a part of the conversation. And we decided that we could do that,” said Banks.
Banks added the event provides an excellent opportunity to fraternize with the community.
“So, our priority is creating a space where anybody can come and feel a sense of community and love and belonging and have a really awesome free meal, a lot of places in town have really been passionate about helping us,” said Banks.
The community Thanksgiving will take place November 28, Thanksgiving Day, from 1 until 5 p.m. Stargazer Lounge will host the event, and all ages are welcome.
