Addiction Recovery Care under FBI fraud investigation

Addiction Recovery Care

Addiction Recovery Care, an addiction treatment service, is under investigation by the FBI for healthcare fraud. ARC officials said their center provides services and networking for people in addiction treatment through residential and outpatient facilities. They have locations throughout the Commonwealth and Ohio. The FBI said the investigation is centered around healthcare claims and potential fraud in the organization. The agency has set up an online survey for people to fill out if they would like to provide information for the ongoing inquiry into the nonprofit.

In a statement, ARC said they are aware of the investigation.

“We have recently learned that there is a federal investigation into ARC. As we all know, healthcare is one of the most highly regulated fields in the country, and addiction treatment is among the most highly scrutinized healthcare services. ARC is a trailblazer in the field of addiction services. We are confident in our program and in the services we offer. We, and our legal counsel, are cooperating fully in the investigation.”

According to officials, no charges have been brought against ARC. The FBI said all victims' identities would be kept confidential. The agency added that participation is voluntary but may be useful in the federal investigation. Based on the responses provided, the FBI may ask respondents for additional information. The survey can be found at forms.fbi.gov.
