Chief Derrick Blevins of the Morehead Police Department has been named the 2021 Kentucky League of Cities Employee of the Year.
The Commonwealth has 20-thousand eligible employees for the recognition, and a KLC board of judges awarded Blevins based on qualities including leadership, efficiency, and dedication.
Mayor Laura White-Brown says it is a true honor for Morehead to have an employee recognized in this capacity.
Blevins has served the city of Morehead for 17 years, beginning his career in 2004. He was named chief in 2016.
