MSU Athletics

Morehead State's cross country teams both finished fifth at Saturday's Bluegrass Invitational at Masterson Station Park. The course conditions were wet with rain falling.

On the women's side, freshman Kansas Greenwell finished 20th, covering the 5K course in 18:14.8. Fellow freshman Gloria Corona-Luna was 29th with a time of 18:29.3.

The men's team was led by senior Jorge Gil-Juarez with a time of 25:08.9 on the 8K course. Evan Childers also cracked the top 40, coming in 39th with a time of 25:53.4.

The men's field included all Kentucky-bases squads and Miami (Ohio), while the women's field was all Kentucky, plus Illinois and Miami.

The teams will be off next weekend before traveling to Earlysville, Va., on Sept. 26 for the Panorama Farms Invitational. That is the same course the NCAA regionals will be contested on.
