Morehead State's Eriel McKee has earned her fifth Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week accolade. The forward from Lawrenceburg, Ky., shared this week's honor with Eastern Illinois' Grace Lennox.
McKee also received the same honor on Nov. 18, Dec. 9, Dec. 23 and Jan. 20.
McKee recorded her seventh career double-double in the 76-58 win over Eastern Kentucky Saturday. She scored 12 points and brought down a career-best 16 rebounds. McKee also had three assists and three steals in the win. She grabbed 14 defensive rebounds to help the Eagles to a 17-3 advantage in second-chance points.
She leads all OVC freshmen in rebounding at 9.2 per game and has upped that to 9.8 against conference opponents.
Morehead State hosts Belmont on Wednesday (Jan. 4) at 6 p.m.
