Robinson And Jones Earn Preseason OVC Honors

MSU Athletics

Morehead State senior guard Terrice Robinson and junior guard Almesha Jones have been named to the official Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference Team.

The Morehead State pair was part of the 10-member all-OVC team selected by the league's head coaches and sports information personnel. MSU is one of just three schools to have two players named to the team. The duo is the second-highest scoring combination returning to an OVC team this season.

Robinson, a Second-Team All-OVC pick last season, became just the 10th player in program history to eclipse the 500-point mark for a season. She scored 524 points and averaged 17.5 per game to rank third in the conference. She also ranked in the league's top five in free throw percentage, hitting 82 percent of her free tosses. Robinson finished the year with 30 consecutive made free throws.

Robinson registered 39 points at Ohio last season, which ranked as the second-highest single-game output in program history. Jones led the team in assists (120) and steals (70) last year, ranking third in the conference in takeaways and sixth in helpers. She averaged 11.5 points per game. She scored 30+ points a team-high three times and shot 73 percent at the free throw line.

Morehead State opens the 2013-14 season with an exhibition game versus Kentucky Christian at 5:15 p.m. on November 1.
