Reis to present at regional, national art entrepreneurship conferences

Jennifer Reis, director of MSU’s Golding-Yang Art Gallery and coordinator of the arts entrepreneurship minor program will be a presenter at upcoming regional and national conferences for entrepreneurship education.  

She will be a presenter at Berea College's Brushy Fork Institute in mid-September, hosting an intensive two-day track called "Emerging Women Appalachian Entrepreneurs" crafted to lead future female business owners through exercises and information to prepare them for successful future ventures.

She will also be presenting at the annual Society for Arts Entrepreneurship Education in Boulder, CO, in mid-October. Her presentation will focus on the hands-on, practice based curricular activities she has developed for her MSU class Arts Entrepreneurship.

Reis is a creative entrepreneur, artist, educator and gallery director who has over 20 years' experience in arts business and administration. She has been with MSU for She is a trained facilitator for programs such as the AIR Institute of Berea College, Etsy’s Craft Entrepreneurship Program, Kauffman FastTrac and CoreFour entrepreneurship courses.

In addition, Reis consults for community development, trade and cultural organizations including the Kentucky Arts Council, Mountain Association for Community Economic Development and the Association for Creative Industries.

Her artistic practice in hand-stitched textiles has been honored with numerous awards, including Kentucky’s Al Smith Fellowship, national adjudicated and invitational exhibitions and teaching opportunities at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, John C. Campbell Folk School, Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design, Society of Contemporary Craft and the Southwest School of Art.
