24-Hour Challenge’ slated for May 7

Morehead State University alumni and friends have been challenged. Alum Ronald Martin (’72) has pledged $25,000 if 500 gifts are received on Thursday, May 7. Martin’s gift will be used to support the new Alumni Welcome Center.

Gifts may be designated to any fund and every gift received that day, whatever the amount, is important and counts toward rising to the challenge.

There are many ways to give on May 7:

·         Online (alumni.moreheadstate.edu/makegift)

·         Phone (606-783-2033 or 877-690-4483)

·         On campus (Palmer Development House or Alumni Association)

·         Regional Eagle Hour Event

Locations for the events are:

Morehead (Fuzzy Duck, 159 E. Main St., from 7-10 a.m.);

Prestonsburg (Pig in a Poke, 341 University Drive, from 12-2 p.m.);

Ashland (Fat Patty's, 1442 Winchester Ave., from 6-8 p.m.);

Greater Cincinnati Area (Pirate's Cove at Four Seasons Marina, 4609 Kellog Ave., from 6-8 p.m.);

Lexington (Rafferty's at Hamburg, 1865 Alysheba Way, from 6-8 p.m.);

Louisville (Gordon Biersch, 400 S 4th St, from 6-8 p.m.);

Morehead (Buffalo Wild Wings, 250 Newtowne Sq., from 6-8 p.m.).

The challenge is open to all alumni and friends; participants do not have to be MSU graduates. Gifts from alumni will count toward the alumni participation rate. The participation rate determines the University’s inclusion on U.S. News and World Report's list of top public universities in the south, a list that has included MSU for 11 consecutive years.

Additional information is available by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations and Development at 606-783-2033.
