Cross Kentucky Ride

Three women will participate in a 137-mile horseback and carriage ride from Greenup to Sadieville, Kentucky. It begins Thursday and joining the caravan are Edith Conyers of Mount Sterling, Ginny Grulke of Lexington and Anne Husted of Paris.

Their trip, which they’re calling the “Cross Kentucky Ride”, is a benefit for the non-profit organization Kentucky Back Country Horsemen. Conyers says it should take twelve days to complete the journey, which will follow small, rural roads through half a dozen counties.

She says part of the initiative is educational…

Conyers says a growing number of Kentuckians are taking up recreational horseback and carriage riding. She says contributions to support the group’s efforts can be made online at www.crosskyride.com.
